These child stars are often their families bread winners, so,...
And who knows, their own parents may have been victims of this sort of abuse also... if so, then they themselves may have passed on entrenched values into their own kids re- speaking out.
Especially if they are threatened by powerful TV executives and told that neither they or their kids will ever get work in this country again if they spill.
Who knows, they may have even had them sign some sort of confidentiality agreement (this happens often) in exchange for a large sum of cash.
Whats known is that Sarah Monahan began showing signs of abuse at school, (according to school counsellors) when she began drawing punctures of p3nises in her school books during class.
This is the problem with Australia, we have an entrenched culture of keeping our dirty little secrets to ourselves, and the gruelling and often contemptuous, lazy legal system further reinforces this as can be demonstrated by only 1% of reported cases only making it to court in NSW alone.
This really has to change!
And the only way to do this is to bring about awareness.
Victims might start thinking "Well if Australian celebrities can do this, come forward, then hey, we can too."
This is what they are worried about.
