Using the above Mandarin terms, I found this rather interesting article on Dudd

I don't know if any of you find Kevs wife's name mildly pretentious, false ..so couldn't help but notice how they spelled her surname Ryan differently in their rendition of a chinese wikipedia....or was it just a typo? I wonder if she modified both her given and surnames to sound more.....well aristocratic, sophisticated, French even?

given Her 'believed' given name Thérèse Rein yields more (e-acutes) than a french menu. However e-acutes are consistent with the rising tone in pinyin, the Chinese language roman-alphabet transcription system also...aside from english lone-words of course, (to help sound them out more correctly)

In other words, could it be a discrete way of modifying an otherwise unremarkable lineage or name to ones own liking, this and making it sound more cultured.

Therese Ryan -vrs- Thérèse Réin. ... Not too shabby eh?

Smile

Rudd is fluent in Chinese and always give him the opportunity Yujingsizuo. Even Chinese President Hu Jintao had praised his "fluent in Chinese, the Chinese are very understanding." Hu Jintao's visit to Australia in 2003 speech in Parliament, Rudd simultaneous machine can not help understand the whole lecture. September 2007 held in Sydney Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit at a luncheon, he gave skilled Chinese Yujingsizuo, won thunderous applauses from the Chinese delegation. This makes the presence of Prime Minister John Howard looks has become a supporting role. He then Chinese President Hu Jintao talks with 30 minutes, was invited to Beijing to watch the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Bush, has recommended the United States written by reporter 库尔兰齐克 "charm offensive", a book analyzing the growth of China's soft power and American influence the reasons for the decline.
In the election campaign, Rudd has not forgotten his "China card." He stressed that the future of Australia between the two countries in commercial, national security and environmental issues have a major impact on cooperation, and he believes that he talked about China, or related matters, right Howard "has the absolute advantage."
Kevin Rudd and the Chinese media a good relationship. For example, he and his well-known CCTV presenter Rui close personal very thick, and another as "old land" and "Little Rui" proportionality.

Howard for nearly 68 years of age the characteristics of old age, Rudd every opportunity to highlight their young close to the people's image. Former Labor Party chairman, he visited parts of Australia, launched "listening tour" weekly television talk show guest to attend the various public activities to promote themselves and the Labour Party's political views.

From these policies, people can easily find former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's shadow, which, Rudd does not mince words. He said the Australian Labor Party to succeed, it must take the road of reform of the British Labour Party, taking both fair and free competition, "the third way."
Howard Liberal government in power for 11 years, the Australian economy performed well to maintain strong growth, the Australian dollar and higher, the unemployment rate remained at a relatively low level. But by the impact of trade surplus and capital inflows, the level of inflation in Australia is also increasingly Gao Qi, real estate prices in particular. In order to curb inflation, Australian benchmark interest rate has reached 6.5%, the highest in ten years. High prices and high interest costs, many Australians headache. Rudd believes that the Government need to intervene in this five-year commitment after the election will be allocated 500 million Australian dollars to subsidize 50,000 first-time home buyers, and tax relief for 600 million Australian dollars in order to encourage the development of 50,000 units of rental housing .
Labor relations, Rudd on behalf of the Labour Party that the Howard Government's industrial relations laws are too extreme, damage the work Fangli Yi. He believes that low unemployment is affected by global factors, not only due to the ruling government, and declared elected will fulfill its commitments for 2012, completely abolishing the "work Choice Act."
Rudd and Howard is another area of very different attitude in responding to global warming. With the Bush administration, the Howard Government has been ambiguous on this issue, Australia and the United States is one of the few developed countries not to join the "Kyoto Protocol" power. Rudd is clearly playing the banner of environmental protection and promised the Labour Party came to power, will address the climate change threat to Australia, to ratify "Kyoto Protocol", set emission reduction targets, urging the establishment of a global "greenhouse gas emissions trading system. At the same time, he also strongly opposed to the Liberal Party to meet the energy needs of the construction plans for nuclear power plants.
In foreign policy, the US-Australia alliance, Mr Rudd said he was "Australia-US alliance of supporters," but also stressed that Australia would not become a U.S. puppet. He and Howard's an obvious difference reflected in the Iraq troop issue. Rudd promised Prime Minister-elect will withdraw all Australian troops in Iraq. While Howard has been seen as a key U.S. ally President George W. Bush.
In addition to supporting the "one China" and advocated strengthening relations with China, the Rudd-led Labor Party also advocates further strengthen cooperation with Asian countries, especially the relationship between ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea. Rudd believes that Australia should play in regional and international affairs and their ability to rather role.

For starters, less GP's are bulk billing, and our soldiers are still in Iraq last I heard, and like Rudd says, why make promises you cant keep?

Slightly hypocritical of a Rudd when he asserts just that when referring to the opposition at a press conference recently (on not keeping party promises ) don't you think?

Lest we forget Rudds campaign commercial on Abbotts Work-Choices implied roll-back.

Just wait for Tonys to come out.... Holy moley, they will be whoppers!

Because that's what you do Kevin Rudd, tell whoppers .....when promising Australians the world only giving them an atlas. Not unlike various children's charitable foundations also who's CEO's wages should be both capped and transparent to the public.(recall this promise Rudd?)

There have been many!

Smile

Even the Chinese public know you are a rat, and whilst you may have some powerful friends in China, it's their people who are far from convinced that you are what you portray yourself to be.

Australians too for that matter.

Wink... Chew your words carefully Mr Rudd, should you have to swallow them.

One of my grandmothers famous sayings!

Rudds famous last words will be....

"Hang on Australia, I just need a little more time"

Sorry, but time is money, and you have squandered more than your fair share already!
