Nightmare on Elm Street Empty
PostSubject: Nightmare on Elm Street   Nightmare on Elm Street Icon_minitimeTue 18 May 2010 - 0:02

What a piece of shit this film was.... heres what was wrong with it....

- Freddy wasn't freddy, some other guy played him, (not Robert England) ....and this one didn't even have Freddys wit, sarcasm, evil sounding scary voice, (sounded like a woman when he screamed, that was hopeless)
-It didn't have great music through it the way the original Nightmare on Elm St movies did.... barely any decent sound effects or creepy music at all.

- Was not even creepy, they recycled lines and scenes from the first original Nightmare on Elm St ...ie, when Nancy was in the bath and the hand comes up between her legs....when the guy was in the bed, ie "How's this for a wet dream".....PATHETIC!!!

-Also, I wasn't happy with the plot change, re- now suddenly Freddy is a paedophile "apparently" when we all know thats not true, he was a child killer, yes, but there was nothing sexual about it, and quite frankly, this part of it made me sick.

-Now this is how the plot is....... he was the grounds keeper of a local preschool and molested some kids in his "secret cave"....(celler/boiler room) where he lived under the preschool when he was once alive, this and would take pics (child-porn) of the little kids and molest them down there in his cellar, (hopeless) ...so all the parents got together and burned him to death, (he screamed like a woman)...and this was supposed to be why he came back for their kids who are now teen-aged.... apparently ...and Freddy still fantasies about them being children. YUCK!!

Like I said, Freddy was never sexual, which is why this movie was so incredibly stupid and warped...the director needs to be shot!

How dare he desecrate possibly the cult horror film genre of my time!! NOT HAPPY!!

And when he dressed Nancy, not the original Nancy from the real Nightmare on elm st...(she was supposed to be his peddo favorite) up as a little preschool girl in a child's dress, and climbed on top of her (was going to molest her)...she said "No, no"...and he said "The mouth says no, but the body says yes".....*Gross* I nearly threw up... Honestly guys, don't bother watching this movie, because like me, it will only make you want to go out and buy the real thing to prove to your teenagers how this new Nightmare on Elm St was absolutely hopeless.

I gave it 0/10 ...not worth watching, had I known how hopeless it would have been, I wouldn't have even put it in the DVD player.

So, when it comes out at the movies, don't bother guys!

Even the way it starts is hopeless, ....in a diner.... all Freddy movies should start with creepy music, and creepy little girls jumping rope in white dresses, this and have teenagers going about their normal lives....(to start with) we all know this!

You know the creepy song and tune....1.2 freddies coming for you, 3,4 better lock your door...well they all should start with this creepy music in the background.... but this didn't.

It was a shocker, and feddys make up didn't even look like freddy, looked like some idiot at a Halloween party pretending to be freddy.

LOUSY, HOPELESS, it's worse than a B-grade movie, it's like someone made it themselves at home with the best of what they could afford.... a recession blockbuster...pmsl!!

Basically, it was a piss weak re-make of the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie, only done on the cheap, and with lousy actors ....wow they were lousy!

Freddy had not a shred of wit or warped sarcasm, couldn't act to save his life.

It was like they pulled some yob off a forklift and said, hey, do you wanna be Freddy today, we'll buy you a case of beer.

Seriously, no wonder Robert England declined to be in this one, when/if you watch this, you will understand why.

Absolutely hopeless.

I have never seen such a lousy bunch of actors, actresses on the one set, it was like they auditioned people for the movie at some community college holding drama classes....really, it was that lousy!!

A BIG FAT ZERO!!!!!

Very Happy ... Again, when this thing comes out at the cinemas, DON'T BOTHER...is not worth the effort, or the $15 it will cost you to go and watch it.

In fact, you couldn't pay me to go watch this thing at the cinemas.

The popcorn was nice however...one of my friends made coconut caramel popcorn, and it was yummy, and still warm.

In a nut shell.....

It was a lame re-make of the original, Freddy just wasn't Freddy, lacked humour, wit, and dream scape, it lacked fear factor, the sense of creepy surrealism the originals had...

(My favourites were Nightmare on Elm St 1, 3 and less so 4) .... I thought the Feddies nightmares series stank also, but at least they had the real Freddy in them and some witty lines. This however hit an all new low, particularly with the sexualisation of a supposedly murderous psychopath, I just found it sick and lousy.

See the thing is, the insertion of his finger-knives represented his own brand of sexuality, ...this was his SEX!! Recall how he would get off upon insertion?

It was exactly what it was, some half baked producer trying to cheap out with a lousy cast attempting to cash in on a legendary horror film.

I mean, imagine if say in 15 or so years time, some fool tried to remake the original Harry Potter?

Cant beat the real thing, they should have left it alone...this and get new jobs!

The sex-spike was just an added irritation, of which didn't sit right with me personally, not sure how others would feel about it,(let me know when it hits the cinemas in a couple of days if you are still hell bent on seeing it) ... but I personally found it sick, and deviant to the true psychological profile of Freddy. Was inconsistent and contrived.

Some things are just better left to the imagination, I think this is one of those instances.

And my god, who did his make up...I have an old Freddy mask from a show bag I got from the Easter Show years ago of which is much more realistic than this fake-ass attempt.

He didn't even have the right voice, or creepy demeanour, was exactly what it was, some washed up unemployed actors trying to cash in on an old favourite.

Very very disappointing!

Jackpot, the song is in the new one, they mostly refer to it....but the song itself, you remember how the tune would often eerily play in the background with the little girls skipping rope in slow motion to it?.......well, it wasn't in there, not in the same way....and the film itself just didn't have the chill factor, was too predictable, and you remember in Nightmare on Elm street 1, (the original).... how Tina was in the body bag?

I expected BETTER special effects, given the age of the original....boy was I wrong!!!

Well, the body bag was back.....but the sound affects, and eerie instrumentals just weren't in there.... it was so crap!!

I went in with a good attitude, was actually (to begin with) had intentions of being more critical of Iron man 2... so we saved what we thought would be the best until last, (also, because I didn't want my daughter to see this, and we put it on after she went to bed)...but you know, it was just stupid.

I didn't pay a thing to see this film, and it's left me feeling like I have been ripped off...just wait until people go and see it on Wednesday, I can tell you now, it will be a huge flop!

America are keeping quiet about it, because they want people to spend, go and see the piece of crap... but take it from me, it is 100% bovine fecal matter of the highest order.

Now....I am being naughty, and have to go write an article, before the kids get home from school....I might be back in an hour or two, depending on how long it takes for me to get in the spirit of things.

This ones worth 40%.

Smile Cheers, and again, welcome to Ausatire.

Should make a nice change from the usual stalkyspies.
