I watched one of my favorite TV shows last night "Big Bang Theory" religiously as I always do, whereby Sheldon described a bee-hive phenomena reminiscent of what often occurred in yahoos CL.

To cut a short episode of TBBT even shorter, heres the theory.

When an existing 'older' Queen Bee is challenged by a 'younger' more fertile bee for the throne, she is required to defend her throne, or step down of her own accord, this or fight till the death to maintain her position if challenged to the death.

I think this is kinda what was happening over on Yahoo, whereby the 'older' queen bee's insisted on standing their ground, however the younger bees (males and females alike) weren't overly impressed with their being told what to do/think by the forum Nazis...so would either challenge the existing 'hierarchy' of whom wanted humble obedient servants, lap-dogs . Some challengers both men and woman just weren't prepared to conform to this beehive hierarchy, just saw Yahoo as a public message board to post their views, not an established institution as such, this and were not prepared to befriend some drunk old wine and let her call them up in the middle of the night to complain about others just so they could stay in the "yahoo" click..(The hive)...so either mocked her, ran a muck or simply left.

It was incredibly bitchy towards the end, as everyone knew everything about each others intimate lives, business, private liaisons etc, as they sat and broadcasted fictitious accounts of their wet and dreary lives.
People got sick of it!



Was like an ongoing soapy, .... and for newbies who weren't up to speed on who was who on Yahoo, I should imagine it would be very very boring, (I was a regular, and even I found it boring) so as people left,(were flamed off the boards) no new blood was joining the ranks, so things just fizzled out.



:)Roo has always seen herself as queen Yahoo bee, and even the mods weren't prepared to chastise her, not meaningfully anyway, when she stepped out of line.

Whenever I start a new topic, yahoo only gets dredged back up anyway....so bright shirt, what did you want to discuss other than Yahoo/yourself?..Oh and Greens and I.

It's all about jealousy, you hate the fact that you care so much about YahooCL closing and what it's ex-posters think about you it eats you up thinking we might think/fart something here without you knowing about it...hence you sit here 24/7 waiting for us to say something....we know this, this is why we feed you sometimes to laugh at you when you react.

You put at least 8 years into reinventing yourself on Yahoo, and now Cl's gone, you don't know what to do with yourself.

...The thing is, we humour you when we get bored, and or feel like rattling your cage, (in between our daily tasks).... throw you a cracker when we feel like it , but as far as actually really giving a damn whats going on over there or in your messed up little freeze dried skull ....Pfffft...well my dear, this is where the road ends.

If we hadn't grown bored of Yahoos CL , it would still be there....and those with their noses out of joint would still be there grand standing and stroking their bits keeping the click-rates up on the boards.


At the end of the day, out of jealously and spite you eventually destroyed yourself when we stopped feeding you.

Even when the mods tried to give you the hint, by positioning CL under the bridge, you still couldn't get past yourself enough to realise what they were trying to tell you.

Well, I have a bit of an attachment to the place, and would like to see it survive it's trolls, I dunno why, but I have faith, and really hope the mods have a plan, ....like I said before, it would be good to have a serious place to post in the lead-up to the next federal election....without having to contend with riff-raff..

I think anyone caught accusing anyone of being someone, this or targeting/fishing people out personally should be instantly banned. Perhaps different rules for different forums?

Either way, the general discussion and CL type forums should be as far removed from the decent topics as possible, because when things go cold in the general topics they start trolling others.

How about mandatory email verification/activation?

Especially on the more serious forums.
